2007 ssv manual
Hi guys I have a 2001 vx ss 6 speed manual with the following mods: 4 into 1 headers, full twin 3 inch exhaust system with no cats, otr air intake and the ecu has had a mail order mafless tune done on it.
My question is while it seems to have really good torque off the bottom end and goes really well after 4K rpm it's really quite flat and lifeless in between 2500 - 4000 rpm.... Any ideas why?

Thanks mate I thought that was probably the case but was just throwing it out there to see if anyone else had experienced it before

4-into-1s and the massive exhaust are probally killing your midrange too.

I'd say get a proper dyno tune and whack a cam in.

Yea the exhaust is a bit overkill but it was already on there when I bought the car so didn't really see the point in changing it.... Sounds good too :boxing:

Well there is really only one solution then, build a motor to make use of the exhaust :)

Would love to do that if I had the coin I'm thinking get it to a dyno 1st of all as the mail order tune was done by your mate at torque performance lol (also already done prior to me owning the car)

Seems pretty normal to me!

My car is the same, because I have the standard 3:08 ratio on the strip I drop down below 4,000 into 3rd and loose the pull until I cross the line. The ratio with the 6 speed should possibly avoid having to drop the revs down that far.

So I'm taking the car to pro tune on Friday for Wayne to have a look at the tune and see what's going on

Wayne did my tune and I am very happy with it.
