VX has better suspension than the VT, so would be a better buy.

Almost genuine VT "S" + VZ "SS" Red Ute + Vk V8
each car is it's own, just get an inspection done by the NRMA/RACV etc. i don't think you can class a particular model of car as a "lemon".

i think the NRMA does inspections for members at about $200 bucks. it's well worth it if your girlfriend is serious on the purchurse of the vehicle

+ i think you posted this in the wrong thread category

I definately wouldn't call them a lemon, but my understanding is they did have some piston slap and oil burning issues, but if you find a well looked after model and have a listen from a cold start for the piston slap you should be fine.

Like Christina said, a (newish) car is a big purchase so i would also recommend getting an inspection completed, its very much worth its money.

The only thing i know, is that they fixed the rear camber problem.

i got one and i dont think they are a lemon

One of my mates that used to work for holden and do the Gen 3 rebuild said if you look for the metal looking head gasket poking out the side of the head where it joins the block then it has been rebuilt and all will be good

Other than that i have had no problems with it besides the usual services
