Hi guys! My v6 berlina is driving me nuts. I'm getting vibration when in drive sitting at the lights. When I shift into neutral it eases off but it seems to be affecting when in neutral aswell seems to be getting worse. I've had the Trans serviced and all is good apparently engine mounts were replaced 6 mths ago with mackays! Took it back to tranny mechanic and he placed it on the pit when he applied pressure on the mounts he reckons it wasn't as bad. I asked about the torque convertor he said the only way to know is to remove the plate and push the convertor back if vibration is gone then we know that's what it is. He then went on to say that if it makes no difference then we can suspect the engine mounts. Anyone had this problem before?? Any ideas or recommendations?

Sorry for the long in tooth story.

Cheers

Engine mounts came to mind when I started to read your post.

What about flex plate?'
Balance shaft?

It may be a process of elimination unfortunatly.

Yeah, that's what my first impression was. I guess I may need to take it back to the Trans mechanic and get him to pull back the convertor to determine if it's the mounts, unless there is another way to check them. They aren't sagged though. They'll charge $50 to have a look.

This might sound stupid but where is the flex plate located?

Flex plate is on the back of your crankshaft and your torque converter bolts onto it.

The kinda vibration I'm getting, wouldn't think it would be exhaust as you can feel it in the dash as well or when you place your hands on the motor, but then you just never know lol!! Will have a look
