what voltage do you have at the starter motor solenoid when attempting to crank
Check this ^
I've had the wires in both the lead to the starter and solenoid break down.

until you start checking voltages you are playing a guessing game
you can use a simple test light. but a multimeter is only a few dollars more
your car would have been running 3 weeks ago

When we had issues with our VZ, the voltage at the main cable to the starter was 12.6V. So OK.
Sometimes it wouldn't crank at all, and the voltage at the solenoid would fluctuate 12.V-0V when turning the key to start.
When it did crank the voltage would fluctuate between 12.6V and 3V at the starter main cable.
So I checked the resistance of the Solenoid wire, 0 Ohms, but if I shook it, it would fluctuate to off scale, same with the main cable.
So basically, both the main cable and the solenoid wire had broken down with heat/age.
I replaced both and have had zero issues starting since.
