when it happens again, try releasing the fuel filler cap. You may have a breather problem and be causing a vacuum in the tank.
I've wondered about that. Is the breather hose the black one that travels up the filler neck and clips on near the top?

Might be an idea to check the fuel pressure.
For the Gen III, it should be.....400 +/- 50 kPa (58 psi +/- 7 psi) with 12.5 +/- 0.1 Volts applied.

Ok thanks I'll do that I've organised to hook it up to a scan tool tonight (for the cost of a couple stubbies lol) so I'll see if I can do that at the same time.

Gidday just a quick update if anyone is interested. I had the car on a scan tool last night and a code for the CAS and also one for the oxy sensors was logged.

Well there ya go... I have to eat my words about the CAS now. Replace the CAS and both the O2s, they often die after fitting headers due to crap burning off the pipes. And they're old.

I was just going to do the CAS to start with I thought maybe the oxy code was due to them constantly reading incorrect mixtures caused by the CAS. But you're right they are old I'll just do them while I'm at it at least then I won't have to worry about them for a while.
