Vy engine and gearbox recon.

Gday Holden Gurus. My 04 VY SS Crewman is in need of a reconditioned engine and gearbox. Can You give me an idea of what price I can look forward to fitted, please.

I find it interesting that both the engine and gearbox need a reco? Got a 2nd opinion?

Unfortunately it really depends on what needs doing as to how much it will cost. Best to shop around and get some quotes.

Engine’s tired, and gearbox sometimes slip’s out of first and reverse. Nothing major, just irritating when it does happen. Got a service coming up, when the mechanic rock’s up, I”ll ask his thoughts. Just want to be ready for the heart attack.

When was the last time the fluid and filter was changed on the auto?

About 4 yrs ago. The mechanic we had at the time did say a recon is in it’s future. I just thought seeing as how the motor is being done, may as well do the gearbox at the same time.
