Hi guys,
I did do a dig before posting this, but my reply on the post from 2013 wasn't posted for some reason...
To the point, I have a good set of HSV struts and shocks out of my VY V6 IRS.
The VR we just bought needs it's shocks and struts replaced, I've never felt anything so sloppy in my life, and I grew up in Logan!
The VR is live axel, will the VY irs shocks bolt in?
I read in the other post that the struts will bolt in fine, is this right?
I'm also looking for lower springs for the VR, may as well while it's apart, I can dam near fit my head between the tyre and wheel arch!
Do I specifically need to get live axel springs? They seem to be rare compared to irs springs.

IRS rear springs won't work in live axle.

My suggestion would be to look up the Monroe parts catalogue (or some other manufacturer) and see if the part numbers between the two models are the same.

Or you could just take them out and lay the side by side, they're only held in by two bolts and you don't need to have them in to have the car on the ground.

Yep, had a look, springs are totally different!
My rear VY shocks look like they may work if I cut down the lower inner bush casing that the bolt goes in to.
More interested in the front struts fitting now,
Anybody done this before?
