Hi, could anyone tell me if it is possible to fit a set of 6X9's speakers to the VY parcel shelf, where the factory holes are already, which look like speakers are therem but they are not. Is there a wiring loom/connection already there to just bolt in speakers and connect, or NO, do i need to run speaker cables from the H/U or utilise the door speaker connections. i have a set of Kenwood 3way 6x9 brand new, just sittin in the garage gatherin dust, thought if it is an easy job to fit to the VY? If not in the bin they go i suppose. lol

I searched the forums, but nothing came up, probably doin it wrong

I did 6x9s in a vx in about 10 minutes, had 2 hit the tac welded plates off then fitted 6x9s marked the holes drilled em out then pop riveted the 6x9s in place, did have to modify the metal abit with a hammer for them 2 fit but was all straight forward stuff, speaker covers are just as easy 2 fit

Is there existing speaker wires up there somewhere, or do I need to run some to the head unit?
Thanks

To run the 6x9s, they would have more power and better sound run off an amp

You can't just wire up 6" x 9" speakers into your existing system so that you have eight speakers instead of the standard six. The standard head unit doesn't have the grunt to drive all those speakers. You either have to install an amplifier or disconnect the speakers from the rear doors and extend their wiring to reach the parcel shelf.
