Hi guys. This is purely curiosity. Is it possible for a VY SS/V8 exhaust to fit on a VY V6? Obviously just the pipe and cats, not the headers/manifolds.

And if so, does it depend on if its sedan, wagon or ute?

No, it won't fit. The V8 has a twin system and the V6 is single. The series 2 VY with twin cats is still different, the cat flanges are in a different spot. The only V6 that a V8 cat back will bolt up to is the supercharged.

Wagon and ute are interchangeable, sedan is different. The VY is a weird car though, series 1 is the same back to the VT, early series 2 are the same as well, when they went to Euro 3 mid 2004 they change to twin cats and everything changed on the exhaust. Nothing will fit from any other model unless, as I said, it's the L67 supercharged.

Holden could have kept it a bit more simple but I guess it helped them make their money haha thanks mate. What a shame though

Plenty of l67 header/cat pipes out there for really cheap. Definitely worth looking into. Could probably have a complete system for under $150 if you're happy with the stock ss systems. Can usually get those for $20-$50 as everybody throws them away just about.
