I'm running some wiring through for adding lock actuators linked to the central locking on my Crewman.
So after going through the diagrams its almost done for us.
I first found the boot release plug in the glove box was there, hidden behind a blanking grommet, a while back.
Looking at some of the diagrams, I might be able to tap into Blk/Rd and Blk/Y.
Dig into the sedan diagrams more and find that the boot release comes from plug X4 on the BCM, which is the furthest right plug. Pin 2 is top left, second across, looking into the now disconnected plug.
Boot is R/Grn wire.
So, on Crewman/Cross6/Cross8:
• Does the BCM have the boot release relay inside? Yes it does.
• Is there a R/Grn wire in X4, Pin 2? yes there is.
• Is the button for boot release to BCM behind the blanking cover in the glove box? Yes it is. Just needs a button.
• Can the BCM accept a new key that has a boot release button? Unknown. Can't see why not.
Turns out the R/Grn wire goes through all the way to the harness plug under the tub in the rear wheel well. It is blanked off on the tub side of the plug.
Plan is to use factory parts to do this. Hope it works. Might be a project a while away though.
Would also need a boot release cable for the locks to I guess. That's easy enough to do.
