VZ calais - which motors are compatible?

Hi guys

have an 04 calais with the LY7 190kw. Does anyone know which series or prefix I need to adhere to when looking for a good used motor? I've read they made the LY7 from 04-09 but not sure if the later models, ie VE, are compatible with an early VZ. thanks very much

Just get an LY7.
Swap all your old sensors over to the replacement motor. Reuse your harness. Keep the sensors and harness on the replacement motor for spares in the future and save yourself a heap of coin later.

While the motor is out, consider doing the timing chains. Water pump and above all that fricken thermostat. Just replace it regardless. Do the rear main seal too. Fairly straight forward repairs and once the motor is out they are cheap to do.
