i use that nulon full syn oil never had a problem, no lifter noise and it seem to stay reasonably clean. i flush mine every service and my intervals are between 5000 and 7500 depending my driving habits. i even use nulon in my parents Captiva with no problems.

You are correct, this has been answered a few times before. If you are unsure about how to search on this forum, throw me a Private Message. I would be happy to help....anyway;

I use Mobil Super 2000 Semi Syn 10w40
I change the oil every 5,000kms or 6 months
I have a 2004 VZ Calais V6 with 112,000kms on the odometer
I do a mixture of short trips and long highway cruising
My car runs smooth and is very quiet on startup and idling

Check the link below for a thread already created on this topic just over 1 week ago;

Realistically the BEST oil to use in your Commodore is the one recommended by Holden 5W30 0r 10W30. The kindest thing you can do for your engine is to regularly change the oil - every 5,000km will help to prevent sludge build-up in the Alloytec (they are renowned for it) as well as a NEW Oil Filter with each change. Buy reputable brands of oil Mobil, Castrol, Shell, Nulon etc. Good luck.
