I have installed new chains and tensioners etc on my 185k old alloytec and cleared the oil pickup screen of any sludge and have also put a oil pressure gauge on it to monitor it .
Car starts and runs fine but has a random click that comes and goes and seems to come from lash in the top of the engine. Inside the car you can't hear anything and at idle when hot, the oil pressure is a bit over 20 lbs pressure and around 2000 revs it hit 70 lbs so oil pressure to me seems fine.
Has anyone had this before ?
Do I have something restricting oil in my lifters ?
I have had the dreaded sludge problem that I have now fixed but I didn't take out the lifters.
