Vz ss 6.0L Auto

Gday guys, have a dumb question that'll probably be easy for someone to answer,,
Can I install a 4 speed auto out of another commodore v8 or does it have to be a vz specific one.
Need to replace mine as when put foot down it will slip and rev it's nuts of .
Any advice much appreciated

Call a reputable performance workshop. I’ve seen vids of ls2 cars drag racing, running stronger auto gearbox’s.

Any vt-vz ls1 auto will work I believe but won't have the extra planetary pinion gear and extra 3/4 clutch the 4l65e has.

Better off having yours rebuilt though. What gear(s) have you lost? 3/4 or second?
