No manual car with a solid flywheel should whine at all.

did you use the new flywheel bolts that it came with? I'm sure the SMF uses shorter bolts.

Im not too sure about the VZ kit but the VY SMF came with shorter bolts, only by a couple of mm but the original DMF bolts bottomed out in the SMF. It may be worth ringing exedy and asking if they were missing from the kit, If you have the wrong bolts in also smash in some new dowels at the same time.

Hey there guys thought id just close this thread and tell u i recently found what was making the whining noise :) it was a bearing in the idler pulley haha no where near the clutch but sounded like it was coz of where it was in the motor lol o well fixed now anyways and just had a dyno tune from CHE and pulled just under 200rwhp with only a full exhaust system, mace pod box / 25mm manifold spacers, 3:46 diff gears and the excedy HD clutch! Plus pulls a lot harder now :) big thanks to dale and the guys down there! Love there work, can't wait for the CPR6 to come and see wat it pulls haha also the tune was done on a 34+ degree day with heavy 20'' wheels and my car needed a good coolent system flush coz it was heating up much quicker then normal so id say the thermo fan would have been coming on during the dyno runs so maybe on a nice day and after the flush might even make it past the 200rwhp mark? Who knows lol I'm happy for now only 6 months left on these damn p's :) yew FI or 2 more cylinders? Not shore wat path to take yet, c ya guys thanks for ya help!
