i'd be happy with all noise and no go.... haha at the end of the day an alloytec stands no chance against a lot of cars on the road, so at least make it sound alright and look good

an alloytec will rip most of the cars on the road, majority are jap hatchbacks or ecotecs its only the rare ss or japanese special sporting forced induction that will challange. It is deffinently true that most cars that will try and have crack will be quicker than the alloytec, but think of all those that dont! thats what helps me sleep at night. The daddys girl in an i30 aint got nothin on me.

currently running a duel 2.25 catback, noticed a difference, slightly deeper note with next to no crackle on decel.
currently got pacys ready to stick on but gotta get cats to suit, couldnt be arsed with stuffin round with stock cats, highflows in a 2.25.
as for a 2.5 single the gain from a 2.25 single is rather minute sorry to say.

Im so lost now.
Is a 2.5 better for a 190 or a 2.25?
I'm completely confused.

i was aswell before fitting the exhaust so i rang around and went to lots of exhaust places before deciding on the 2.5 sigle system was told 2.5 inch dual system is good but can drone and there can be a drop in the power as not enough back pressure i got mine with a rear resonator as i have a 7 month old who was just born when i got the system am getting a set of hm headers . every on has told me it sounds good and not like those stupid 4 cyl with those massive exhausts as i said in the last post it cost 400 so was worth a shot and 7 mths latter still happy

Well its one to their own at the end of the day as your the end user and your forking out for it.
Just my view, 2.5 duel breathes quiet well, and so it goes larger you go of course, that said your not wrong its subject to droning - quite a bit actually, moreso with additions of high flows and headers, hence personally i settled for the duel 2.25
single 2.5 would be another step down from the duel 2.25 not by much but you then get a mergance of exhaust gasses at the Y piece.
That said still a step forward from the stock pea shooter eh!

I'm completely confused.

the 2.25 duel im refering to is a twin pipe system so you have the 2 pipes near mirrored in construction running from the cats all the way to the tailpipe.
the 2.5 used by fellow members on this thread are refering to single pipe system, same construction as stock but larger in diameter so you have the Y junction after the cats and single pipe running from that junction to the end of your vehicle.
the 2.5 duel is the same as mine but again larger pipes used, this system is often experienced to be excessivly droney cause of its larger size capable generous flowrates.
end of the day this can be induced or reduced withmost systems depending on engine tune and other mods and not forgetting rest of the exhaust system construction.
theres lots of detail on exhausts if your seriously intrested in learning more, end of the day best to talk with your exhaust specialist or a few in fact to get a more unbiased view.

hey boys, just joined and this post helped heaps when putting on a system.
I got dual 2 1/2" and pacemaker extractors. There's a little drone, but only in the cabin, outside it roars. Haven't found a 6 cylinder commodore that sounds better yet.
For giggles i took the muffler off and actually made a little girl cry as i went past, so if hotdogged i think it be sweet as.
As for loss of power NO WAY, i got better throttle response and higher end acceleration.
I know i'm new but I tell the truth.
