If I replace the TCM, does that need to be matched by a technician (or OBD2 interface) to the car?
I ask because where ever ECM, PIM, BCM and key sets are sold, they never seem to include the TCM.
-----------------------------------
My issues with the car throwing codes like it's a sport continues.
I have now been learning about the sensors and why they produce codes and of course, just because a code is produced does not mean the sensor is faulty. There is a whole lot of stuff that goes on before a code is thrown.
One person that has been fascinating is Paul Danner on Youtube.

Fault finding tech is kind of cool.
------------------------------------
Now at a point where an ECM or associated must be the fault.
I am going swap out the computers with another set to see if that eliminates the issue.
Of course, there is the possibility that I am importing another problem, but, for $200 for a set v far more dollars for technicians to charge way more to only tell me a sensor is gone.

My problems started after a radiator was replaced and I suspect an RAC mechanic has shorted the positive terminal while connecting or disconnecting the battery, damaging the computers. (I did find an old code for unexpected voltage buried in there.)
