Hi I am due to put new plugs and ignition leads on my VZ SS 6 ltr holden crewman. My problem is that some leads sets say they are the same ones as the 5.7 ltr. Is this true, or is the difference the length of the lead. Any clarification would be very helpful. Also are Eagle leads E88766 any good.
Thanks Mick

I did a lot of searching on here and came to the conclusion that unless your making big RWK's the standard plugs and leads are the way to go.
I got a set of leads and plugs from fleabay for my vx ss for 130 delivered

eagles are fine.
check the old ones with a multimeter though as they could be fine, working on 5000 ohms per meter.
Everybody has there own limits some say 10k per foot (33k meter) and some say 3k per meter but 5k is a good way to do it IMHO.

set the multimeter to 2000 ohms

the LSX lead legnth is 21cm so thats 4.7 leads to a meter.

Take the reading on the leads by placing the tips of the meter on each end of the lead making sure your touching the metal electrode.
example on my clubby the original packard leads read 360 ohms.
so 360 x 4.7 = 1692 ohms per meter this is well under the maximum allowable per meter and is absolutely fine.

Also inspect for cracked insulation (the silicone cover).
