Welcome to Just Commodores, a site specifically designed for all people who share the same passion as yourself.
I did clean it up, the problem is I cannot see behind the engine... which is why I posted here...Clean it up PROPERLY, then keep your eagle on on it to know where it's coming from.
Well feel for the leak.
If it's really cleaned up it will feel dry and oil free behind, and elsewhere, then feel where the oil is starting to leak from.
thanks mate thats what i thoughtComing through the bell housing, that’s got to be a rear main.
It’s definitely engine oil looking at the colour.
Thermostat on the back of the ls? Gotta do mine as a summer backyard job cheers, might do a shift kit and maybe stall while its out. It will be my first real fun, only done water pump alt tb ect before. Not great having to get the gearbox out.
If that’s out, have a new thermostat installed. It’s on the back of the motor and not fun to do. The opportunity is there.
The rear main is straight forward. The major cost is labour.
I’d also suggest a trans service as well, seeing how it has to come out.
