Looks to me like its from the tappet covers?

Could it be anything else?

If the rear seal goes, wouldn't think it would get up that high on the bell-housing?

Thoughts?

Clean it up PROPERLY, then keep your eagle on on it to know where it's coming from.

I did clean it up, the problem is I cannot see behind the engine... which is why I posted here...

Well feel for the leak.
If it's really cleaned up it will feel dry and oil free behind, and elsewhere, then feel where the oil is starting to leak from.

I've done that, its around the bell housing - can't feel anything above

Pulled the tappet cover and its fine, no leak there

Could the rear seal be gone, I have never seen oil on top of the housing due to the rear oil seal?
Nothing else in that area, no hoses etc
I could put it up on ramps and clean away again, run it while on the ramps. (no driving to stop the oil spreading)
Cant find anything else, might have to take it down to the local and pay them to put it on a hoist

Its leaking quite bad, would think its easy to find!

Not great having to get the gearbox out.
If that’s out, have a new thermostat installed. It’s on the back of the motor and not fun to do. The opportunity is there.
The rear main is straight forward. The major cost is labour.
I’d also suggest a trans service as well, seeing how it has to come out.
