Hi all

Appreciate thoughts/experiences on a comparison between the W310 and the KPM street fighter packages for the VF SS.

The KPM entry level package quotes 10kw more power than the W310 and is 2 grand cheaper (with warranty) while the stage 1 and 2 packages provide another 30 - 40 kW for less than $500 more.

Cheers

Never seen them.
I've had my w310 for just over a week n think it's the ducks nuts.
Anyone could tune for more power than 310 but it's not all about total power.

I don't have either but am dying to bite the bullet with a KPM pack. Entry level pack states ECU Performance Reprogram which I believe is what Walkinshaw do. Stage 1 and 2 are Customised ECU Tune on Dyno which is worth $990. When I spoke with KPM a few months back they offered for me to take the finished car for a drive to decide whether I want AFM turned off (not saying a Walkinshaw dealer wouldn't do the same thing). They were also nice enough to offer to store the car for over a week while I had knee surgery in Adelaide which I thought was kind of them (knee surgery cancelled which is why I haven't got it yet). Mind you for the price if customer service wasn't 100% it would be the straw that breaks the camels back. One more thing of note is the warranty offered with KPM is driveline only, but for a cool $500 more or there abouts you can opt for a full factory vehicle warranty. Not sure what Walkinshaw's is. I guess if you're after a 3 inch you've probably got more noise and bragging rights from KPM, 2.5 inch may make the decision harder. Either way the wallet will take a beating.

KPM are similar to what HPF do here in Vic.
Both credible tuners and I know from my experience with HPF they know what they are talking about.

If I was going to mod my VF, I would be going to a KPM or HPF over Walkinshaw.
I don't see Walkinsahw as a genuine performance tuner like the other guys. To me they are more a marketing company.
You pay more with Walkinsahw as well for much the same outcome as the specialist tuners will give you.

Personally I would no longer recommend KPM for performance work on my ride. I used them for a cam, tune etc. on another brand of car and paid an arm and a leg and only received an ankle in return. Plus a damaged power steering pipe I had to also pay for. I went to another tuner and had the tune sorted correctly. That said I don't know what they are like with GM products but they have done their dash with me.

Thanks for the feedback guys.

6LVFSS - Everything I have heard about the W310 has been positive (I believe the phrase "jizz fest' has been used). However with a 3 grand difference to the base Streetfigher pack I am wondering whether the W310 is overpriced in relative terms or whether it is the old adage of you get what you pay for.

Has anyone got any feedback on the SF base pack exhaust sound and driveability?

Cheers

Even look around at other tuning shops and compare prices. Forget about walkinshaw its overpriced for the gains you get. Its better to shop around. That is exactly what i did and saved myself a heap of money and got better power after the tune.

Hi guys
After looking at the advice on the forums I'm pretty keen to go with one of the street fighter packages. I note that pro auto are the ones to go for in WA for this brand.

Has anyone got any experience with pro auto or with any of the street fighter packages since the last thread post in May?

Cheers
