ok ill just buy some chrome tips and get them welded on i dont want drone cause my exhaust atm is droning badly thanks for the info

Dude, just get the SS mufflers. Chances are the exhaust shop will have them in the scrap bin and give them to you.

If your manta catback is droning....why dont you sell it?

I just put a pair of AFM SS mufflers on my SV6. Sounds exactly the same to my ear, and NO drone. They do look better. Fill out the cutout in the diffuser much better.

What's the difference between an AFM SS muffler and a SS muffler?

Don't know the physical difference, but the AFM mufflers are a bit quieter and don't drone.

AFM mufflers are single outlet as apposed to dual outlet for non-AFM.
The AFM single outlet is split into two by the outlet extention (to stop drone)

I believe the extra tuned length of the J shaped pipe inside has more to do with it...

I found if you would prefer not to de-mod your exhaust to stock and simply want to eliminate the drone, put a similarly tuned length pipe axleback called a helmholtz chamber:

Cost around $300 vs 2nd hand stock cans, more details on this forum via search or PM me.

So am I getting this right?
You can make your own 'j pipe' with an equivilant piece of pipe?

Yeah cinchy, works a treat too. There are a few posts, threads and comments I've done over a few years here, lookup keyword helmholtz.
You could do it yourself I suppose if you can weld... lets you have a performance exhaust note (quiet or loud) without the boom and drone in the cabin.
First you find the offending frequency, then work out pipe spec, then fit it. Voila!!
