What should I do to protect my tonneau cover as it is in the sun all day?

Thanks in advance

I just use amourall what you use on your dash. But try leather and vynil wipes that would be better.

Won't they both attract dust and oil? And leave a funny finish?

Just wait for TinSnips to weigh in on this one, his recommendations are always right on the money. I wouldn't put armourall or tyre shine anywhere near it. They're both dressings not protectants.

Whatever you do decide to put on it , remember that whatever it is will run down the sides and back of your ute when it rains.

I leave mine to battle the elements, and also have a new spare so i am lucky in that respect.

Of course the ultimate way to protect it is, take it of and fit a Hardcover.

But i understand that this is not always a answer to the problem. They are not cheap and are not always practical for some owners.

Cheers mate.

I never worried about putting anything on mine when i had one on the hilux, just washed it as normal when the ute got a wash and that was it. Bloke i know uses yuk off on his and makes it look pretty for a few days.

I've had many old sports cars with black vinyl tops and I found a wash when you washed the car weekly or whenever, and a scrub with a soft brush now and then to get any dust or grit out of the material did the job.

The vinyl in black is very UV resistant and will last for many years even out in the weather.
