I have a vy v6 wagon.
I have this water Swooshing noise coming behind my steering wheel.
Twice I have pulled up and my over flow bottle has pushed out a heap of water.

Can any one tell me what has water in it behind my steering wheel?

Sounds like the radiator cap may be failing and not maintaining the correct pressure in the system. The sounds from the dash may be caused by air in the system. Top up the coolant system and bleed. Make sure the heater is running full hot to get all the air out.

BTW, replace the radiator cap.

What brand of radiator cap are you using?

I've found the CPC brand caps are the same as Holden fitted and seal better than the Tridon ones on the plastic style radiators.

Is it possible for leaves and rubbish to block the plenum area below the windscreen, and water to slosh around there ?
The old holdens were renowned for it.

Behind your dash is your heater core that your coolant flows into and gives you warm air for those cold days.

But as the other blokes have said, it might be a broken rad cap and not sealing properly and letting air into your system.
