weird problem after installing new stereo in my vs

Thanks for that, first thing I will do is try the door switches before pulling the dash apart again, and if I still have the problem I will see how I go with that wire.
Its just funny that as soon as I put the stereo in and connected up the battery the light came on and wouldnt go out.

I think I found the problem.
on the passenger front door the white button on the switch is broken off, so it was always closing the circuit, as if the door was open.
I pulled it out and it seems to be fine now.
I will try dig one up at the wreckers and see how it goes.
If it persists after that I will have to try that wire.
I just cant work out why it didnt do it before i put in the stereo.

update,
all fixed now.
replaced the switch (scored one for $10) and it all works fine.
