VZ Crewman, VZ Cross 8, & ya mum.
Was it the LTT that was in the S1.5 then? Maybe that was it?

I'd say LE0 and LY7 are the worst VE's to get and the LF1, LTT and LFX are the better VE's to get, at least in V6 form... Make sure you get one that has been well maintained and SS mufflers are the only exhaust modifications you should do, otherwise it's going to sound like garbage...
fair go mate, my LY7 is decent in every aspect

& its got factory dual fuel

They're not terrible engines at all, they're just the least desirable of the VE's, along with the LE0...
its only the shi77y ECU's & their tuning capabilities that set them back

Also the transmissions aren't the best... Sure, the 4 speed is generally reliable (but very outdated even when new) though the 5 speed was a bit of a dud mechanically...

Yup 100% agreed in both aspects
4 & 5 speeds were/are the shi7s

5 speeds cost an arm & a leg to buy used given at the rate the F up
4 speeds are a dime a dozen & no one wants them

eventually I’ll want to convert mine to a 6 speed manual

i got stuck with a 4 speed but for now at least it’s working

Or you could dump a V8 into it and make it a manual...

ive found a 2010 calais with LFX, 6 speed and a LSD diff

its my dream colour and its got leather seats

its had timing chains done

but its got 200,000kms on it, and its got the series 1 stereo with no bluetooth thing (no media button)

would it be one to avoid because of the high kms, because in 4 or 5 years it will be up around 300,000 (if VEs can even get that high)

its even interstate and im willing to catch a plane to go get it
