On a VX, about half way down on the outside of the doors, there's strips that are about 5cm or so wide that run across the width of the doors and finish on the front quarter panel. I think they're meant to help protect your doors from hitting stuff like other doors. They don't. On Execs they're black and on Berlinas and Calais they're colour coded. VTs have a channel/crease instead. What are the strips called? I've tried looking up "door strips" which just returns weatherstrip, "door trim" which just gives me those annoying little plastic retainer clips that hold down things like your boot carpet and break a lot, and "door moulding" just brings up those chrome/black plastic strips that run along the top of your doors to help stop water running down your window and inside the door.
Is there some other word I haven't tried?
Thanks.

I like that name, but apparently no one on ebay knows that's what they're called

Thanks to your suggestions, I've now had minor success with "Door mould trim" and "body mould strip".
Thanks for your input!

or they use the US spelling of mold, yet ebay can quickly find you every listing for a VW Clubsport....

Also try bump mould. I've seen them call that.
