VN series 1 5spd-tuned by Greenfoam :)
gday, my vn series 1, dosent have a charcoal canister.

the only reason i knew about them is because i asked where the hoses are meant to go that come off the throttle body. it has 2 blocked off plugs on there at the moment. i have also seen a car that has a hose go from 1 hose connection to the other as well. thats what made me curious.

what i want to know is, what would be the benefit of having one fitted?
from reading the forums here, i see that they are a legal requirement over there in Oz, but they arent here in NZ.

They absorb fuel vapours. Might have something to do with variations between AUS and NZ emissions regulations. Not too sure.

Yup. The short story: you wouldn't see any benefits in terms of the stuff we care about. (fuel economy, power, sound, etc)

(I dare say, is that TWO useful posts now Cobez? You're on a roll!)

yeah just there to absorb vapours and then gets sucked up from the throttle body and added to the mixture, i dont have it on mine just blocked off, but now the fuel vapour just comes out the pipe as i havent blocked mine off
