What is this mystery piece of broken plastic?

My son said he just had trouble shutting the bonnet on my VS because this bit of clear plastic had rotated and was preventing it shutting. It was attached to the bonnet, not the body, by the bolt circled in the photo. There was only the one. If there was ever one on the other side it's long gone, but I've only had the car 2 days so I've no idea. Can someone please tell me what it is?

That was my guess, but the headlight protectors are still on and they bolt to the body, not the bonnet.

It will be a plastic bonnet protector. Maybe 2-3 inch high on the leading edge.
Probably broken off years ago and that one piece remains.

its a small front bonnet perspex protector preventing stone chips, mounts under bonnet and sits over front edge over badge when bonnet closed
