yeah they just open her up and tinker away. next time or if you ever change the diff oil have a look through the bolt hole with a torch, its interesting...if your into that stuff

check the tag on your diff its bolted to your backing plate itll tell you what ratio and if its lsd

3.9 diff gears for the manual or auto will get the car into the flat 13 high 12 sec mark

Metal cats made a big difference for me. But if i had a choice between them or a 3.9 diff, well id go the diff forsure. But done properly will cost 1400ish. look at the enhanced automotive section. money well spent though. The vy ss 6spd should have 3.45:1 ratio from factory?

if its 346 ratio then id sell it and buy another one as the 346 ratio diffs are worth around 700 and you could buy a cheapie like the one i have and that would cover the rebuild

no get a high stall. a medium stall will cut ur times by a good half second. much better investment then diff gears. oh just realised its manual. yeh go diff gears
