VYII Calais 5.7
Guys,

I wanna replace the head unit in my VY with something that has Bluetooth.

What are your recommendations for something reasonably priced with Bluetooth? Preferably something that'll go in without any fluffing around, and work with the steering wheel buttons...

Cheers,

if u want steering wheel buttons to work, you gotta buy the extra adaptor piece from auto-barn and its $110 for just a stupid loom

i have a single pioneer head unit, without bluetooth its awesome but im looking to get the double din full screen touch, but i will have to stay with pioneer because i have bought the stupid $110 pioneer adaptor loom to make steering control work

its also important to know what brand speakers you have or getting to match the head unit. i put front JVC speakers in and they dont like my pioneer head unit

VY 3.8 One Tonner S2
I had an Axis head unit installed recently on my VY one tonner. It's a 6.2 inch touch screen, bluetooth, usb input, plays DVDs, has a reverse camera installed, looks pretty good neat install with the fascia. Steering controls work, very happy with it so far, had it installed by Jaycar, around $590

I've used Pioneer for a long time. But I am becoming less impressed with them over the years. The one I had before my current unit was faulty from factory and I only found out once I hooked up an amp and it had a ground loop. Fixed it by replacing it with another Pioneer but a few years on and the same thing has happened, the RCA jacks are failing so I can now only use one set of jacks, meaning I can't bridge my amp.
I think I might try Alpine when I upgrade.
