Whats the Quickest Australian Production Car ?

where does xr6t ute come in all this

I'd take the E49 anyday (I want to restore one)
I'm not sure on the ute, there still on leaf springs so the traction might hold them back.

With the fastest car I guess it depends on how you race them as Holdens do well on the quarter mile but Ford's tend to do better on the circuit track (i'm talking stock production cars). The latest F6 was beating the HSv LS2 around the track, I cant remeber what mag it was in.

E49 was the fastest 6 until the EA XR6 came along and beat it's quarter mile time in 88/89.

Well thats what I've been reading. Maybe they meant a worked EA.
Quickest E49 I've read is 14.2/14.1.

i read in feb 06 motor mag. that the typhoon beat the clubsport in every aprect nearly, just the clubby had beter tyres.

yeah and one of the chargers was the fastest accelerating production car ever and still is, cant re4call what oen exactley but yeah maybe someone can look into it

The 1987 Ford Sierra RS500 Cosworth was technicaly an Ausie production car there were 500 of them made and sold in Australia. Standard with a 224 Bhp Turbo 2lt engine doing 0-100 kph in 6.1 seconds. I have heard of them running low 13's. Thats not too bad for a puss box ford.
