Has anyone had to re-align their VF Commodore yet? I have had mine done and it feels shithouse now to drive. The dealer did it without asking first time. I took it back and then they outsourced it. They also couldn't fix it so they told me to find my own aligner and get it done. I used the guy I know and he said issue with the castor. I have driven other Redlines and they seem fine. Even my Calais wanders a fair bit as that has been done by the same aligner.

The guy mentioned I have a castor issue and adjusted the right hand side camber to compensate. Looking at the report it seems (castor) to be the same both sides.

I just need someone to adjust it properly so it drives straight.

Can anyone help me please?

Put it back on the dealer. You shouldnt have to be chasing around for aligners to fix a problem that they caused.

If you get no satisfaction from them, call Customer Support.

Don't know where in Melbourne you are located, but you can try Traction Tyre & Suspension centre, 65 Kelletts Rd, Rowville 9764-2811. They are excellent and have people from all over Victoria coming there for wheel alignment on their cars. It's very difficult to find a good wheel alignment place.

On a flat road my Calais V tracks perfectly straight. However, most roads are cambered (so that water will run off quickly), and my car tends to follow the camber (either left or right) a little too readily for my liking. It feels as if there's too little castor action to keep the car pointing straight ahead. It's always done this from new. Anthony121, is this the problem you're having?

My Calais V steering wheel was not straight when driving straight so asked the dealer to align.....they aligned the front end twice with no improvement. Took it to a steering specialist in Sydney with 40+ years experience and reputation and he adjusted the caster. As Sir Les also said, on a flat road the car tracks straight and the steering wheel is straight. On most cambered roads, it seems im trying to drive it up the camber....tried it on LHS and RHS of a cambered road and its the same thing.....ive accepted that it is sensitive to road camber.....

Try Trutrack in North Melbourne. I've been using Ralph for 20yrs with my various Subaru's and will take my Redline their once I decide which springs I'm going with. He is not cheap though. But I've never left that place dissapointed. Not far from HQ too Anthony.

Have also heard good things about Traction tyres (Rowville) through various car clubs I've been associated with, if your out that way Anthony.

Yes sounds exactly line mine. I call it veering across the road as against to pulling. I notice the Calais steering is way too light and is easily tracked to the conditions of the road. The SS is a bit different. I had a Caprice V the other day and it drove fantastically!
