just a quick stupid question lol. When is the best time to check my oil. I checked mu oil the other day after leaving the car overnight and its only been about two weeks since the oil was changed (cam install) and its down a fair bit. Is this because ur supposed to check when the engine is warm or have i dropped a lot of oil?

You should NOT of lost any oil since the cam install, did you cheak the oil level when you first got it home with cam install? Or just thinking it was at correct level when cam installed. Surely it would have been full after work done.

Even If it reads full cold the best is to over fill a little it wont hurt! I always run with 500mls over full, been told thats the best way with these engine's.

far as i know it should be full when cold. park it on flat ground and check it in the morning. hot or cold won't make too much difference.

Yeah, over night is best.

Check where you are loosing oil if you filled it correctly.

check your dump plug and your oil filter, these things can leak if not tightened properly
Doesn't really matter when you check it unless its not on even ground or your motor is on/just turned off

ah k, i know i have a small leak somewhere but its only dropping about a liter of oil between every oil change so ive left it for now. i will monitor it. Also my enigine bay is filty, is it ok to use the degreaser at the car wash and then use the high pressure hose to rinse it off. Will it do any eletrical damage?

no high pressure hose!!
just some low pressure/can degreaser and a bit of time to do a good job of it.
CAS doesn't like water much.
