where is the best and safest place to mount a car fire extinguishers

just wondering where is the best and safest place to mount a fire extinguishers on a vt commodore,would prefer it to be on passengers side so its easy to grab in emergency.

best on a tilt so the trigger cant be set off by mistake and tape a box cutter to it
so you can cut off the seatbelt to reach the bottle

ok not a commy but you get the idea

Having a box cutter in the cabin will jus get you a very hefty fine. At least in vic.

My rear passenger foot well essentials. Always in the car. And that's my 1/2" Drive socket set on the bottom.

All in easy reach from the drivers seat. And there is a sharp pair of scissors in the first aid kit that should cut through a seatbelt.

really Husky dam ... sorry Forum didnt know ...so I guess in that situation you die by fire

but very sharp scissors is ok --- let us know what brand will work (test them at a wrecker on an old frayed belt I guess )

I use trauma shears, which are $20 off eBay. They will easily cut through motorcycle leathers. I have them in my centre console as I require them for work.

mines mounted in the boot, I know it's not the most practical place but its better to have one than none at all.

In the old days (can't be done now AFAIK due to what's behind it) I used to have one mounted on the passenger kick panel.

Now I have one in the boot.
