Which Oil

Hi All

Is it ok to use Castrol magnatec 10/40 in a VS V8 (220K'S) or is there a better choice of oil?

If you live in the snow, yes. Other wise a 20/50-60, Penrite hpr30 is a popular choice.

Don`t use Castrol magnatec.
Guy I got the VS off was using it for 10yrs 10,000klm oil changes.
Pickup in sump got blocked up with carbon pull sump off and was a hand size ball of sticky carbon.
A guy I know happened to his to.

Castrol Edge Sport 20W50 is fine if you want a mineral oil, 10W60 if you want a synthetic. I was using Mobil 1 5W50 synthetic in my wife's Clubsport from new until it got too expensive (213k's now). Penrite is also fine as per the previous post.

Thanks for your replies...Just picked up some Penrite HPR30 as suggested... Good deal on at supercheap this weekend ..40% off all mineral oils so only cost $24 per 5 litres
