VS II 1997 BT1 5.0
Hi all

I have a 5.0L in my VS and am wondering which temperature sender (i think there are two) that people change to fix idle problems. I can see one on the inlet manifold on the passenger side sort of in between injectors. Then I see what I think is another one in a similar location as those on a V6 located near the thermostat housing & water pump on the top front of the engine. What do each of these do and which one is the one I need to replace to fix the idle problems that people seem to have fixed in their V6'ers?

Also will it fix what I believe is an inaccurate temperature gauge on the dash?

It will be the sensor that has a 2 wire connector - this one tells the ECU what the temperature of the engine is.....another sensor with only 1 wire is the sensor which operates the temp gauge.
This is for the V6 and I guess the V8 will be the same.
Not sure how this sensor can affect idle - usually if the sensor (2 wire) is buggered, the ECU will be unaware of the correct engine temp and the fuel consumption will increase.
