Im just about to get some 18" wheels for my ute and need new tryes.
Can I have some suggestions for tyres with these points to consider....
1) its pretty damn low,, 2) my work gear in the back is very light,, 3) the only time I loose a bit of confidence is in the wet.
Ive heard that the Falken FK-451's are good (for water dispersion) but wondered what you all think before I buy them because at $330 per tyre I wanna be sure and every tyre place I go to tells me something different.
thanks

(edit) ooops, sorry, just realized ive posted in the wrong spot

235/40R18 tyres do not come cheap

but seeing as you bought wheels, you must have a bit to spend on tyres.
so lets start at top of the range
pirelli pzero rosso will set you back approx $550 give or take $50.

sumitomo htrz2 is cheaper but still will keep you safe in dry and wet conditions. will set you back aprox $240

falkens are a good tyre but they are a NZ version of firestone.

Bridgestone s03 will be flawless but again expensive $460+

Toyo best buy top traction at about $220

the cream of the crop would be the Yokohama C-Drive at about $340-$380

out of all these i would opt for the sumitomo's as they are a quality tyre at a good price but if i had the spare cash i would go the pirelli's or yokohama's.
when it comes to replacing an 18inch tyre its gonna happen every year or about 25,000-30,000 km's given that the camber problem with all commodores from 97 onwards but if you rotate and flip regularly it will extend the life of the tyres.
i hope this helped you out with your choice

if you got the spare cash go the c-drives :)
