whisling sucking noise

have a strange sound when starting car in the mornings,when she starts up there is a strange whistling or sucking sound it goes away after a under a couple minutes could it be the throttle body have know idea.

An engine with a 'whistling noise' WOW a lot of people would kill for a noise like that - sounds much like a supercharger spooling up !! Way to go.

I've heard this noise on a few 6L cars. Wouldn't have a clue what it is.

I had a dodgy power steering pump that made a similar noise.

Mine does it every cold start mate (L98 Calais V), research on this (and other) forums suggests it's the alternator, and a very common issue, nothing to be concerned about, unless of course it gets significantly worse or accompanied by other noises. Hope this helps

Given that the sucking noise doesn't last long, I'm guessing you've ruled the missus out as a possible culprit?.......

tml678 thats what it does only on start ups in the morning, as for the photo was done buy a laptop
