Not a silly question at all - commercial wiper fluid no good?

Well you've got two options now - I didn't know about mixing Ajax into it either! I've been using Ajax for years to clean house glass - good stuff.

Sabbath - I assume you are recommending Ajax liquid - the powder is probably dilutable but if you didn't mix it properly I guess it could block the jets??

VZ Calais Impounded?
Ajax might be too chalky and block up the sprayers. Try windex or even Earth's choice dishwashing liquid. 1part windex/earths choice to 10 parts water is what I use

I use Bars also, brilliant stuff. I believe Ajax powder contains calcium hypochlorite, so I wouldn't recommend putting it through the system.

Just don't put it in the reservoir first.
Put the water in first, then the Bar's, otherwise it will foam up too much.
The movement of the car is enough to mix it through.
