wireing question for vt

hai guys, im just wireing in my shift light and need to rig it into the ignition but im guessing its harder than connect red to red and black to black... soo what wires should i use for power and earth??

use the cigarette lighter plug. the wires on the back are straight forward enough

y not just go for straight power ? run from the battery both power and earth.. or just earth it locally.. and as vtman sed tap into the siggy's plug

sure no worries i was just thinking of saveing power (i.e on when car is off) but it shouldnt draw that much thx

edit: soo ive wired the rpm wire into the wire in the engene bay (on passenger side its green) but im not getting a signal is there something else i gotta do or put the wire in somwere else??

rpm normally comes from the coil side of things.

i cant wire it just before the coils that will fry the whole kitten cobuital, but would i be able to go from the dash??

The better way to do it would be IGN. So it only turns on when the reds are on or when the car is running.
And if your looking for the RPM signal the color is BROWN from the DFI Module. This wire goes to the tacho in your car.
