Wk statesman overheat problem

just resently bought a 2004 wk statesman and found that the temp gage go's up. but then after around 10 seconds it go's back down it does this all the time. is this a electrical fault?

umm...ok? All temp gauges go up...Hard to give you a specific answer when your not specific with your question.

How hot does it get, what else happens? does the coolant boil or is it purely just a spiking temp gauge?
