Must be a broken unit, UART is certainly connected but nothing happens when ACC turned on.

Thanks guys, I picked up a WL stereo today but when I plugged it in it made cd changing noises for a while, and when I turned ACC on I entered in the PIN but the unit did not turn on

So it is working (turning on), but not getting any music? Do you even get static?

Does the cd changing sound.. clunky or crunch.. as could be a dodgey unit.

i think that system run on a can bus and i dont think your car has it that why u dont get sound

If you get the DVD head unit does that mean you would get mp3 playback?
