wont change?

hey guys my mates vr berlina does not change down gears.its auto.u go to take off and it will try and take off in 2nd or 3rd so he has to change manually with the gearstick. anyone no/has/had these problems.

Maybe the car has gone into "limp home" mode due to some other major problem.

my vr did similar thing when i first got it.. except it wouldnt go up gears.. serviced the trans. and its all good now. maybe similar deal?

have you checked for error codes? my car went into limp mode when my throttle position sensor died :s

same problem here with my vr, checked error codes and only code 12 which means all good.
