wont hold its revs?

hey all, when i take off from the lights it takes for ever to get into 2nd and 3rd gear its an auto btw and when im driving along in D and i put it back to 3rd or 2nd it wont hold its revs the revs just drop to were the idol sits at, but wont slow me down

so i was just wondering what the problem could be as im trying to get my car ready for the road for when i get my licence back

maybe ur going too fast for second? they do have a cut of point so that could be it.. ur electronics in ur trans or ur computer may be broken thou.. coz second gear cuts off at 120kmph

Sounds like you've worn out/broken your sprag clutch, get an auto specialist to take a look.

(This is assuming fluid level is fine, and it's been serviced regularly)

yeah all the oil is pretty much brand new,and nah its not when im going to quick i could be doing 40 and it still wont hold, yeah probley best bet is to take it to a mechanic

My auto second cuts out at 140kmph not 120kmph :w00t:

my 5l calais was doing the same thing. it end up being the kick down cable being out of adjustment! but i dont think vr vs models have them, they must be vacum or electronic sensed for gear shifts! your best bet is to ask a spert!

my auto is broken.... it doesn't cut out... lol.. just bounces off the rev limiter
im not complaining though......................... weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.

but anyways, id take it to an auto elec... they know everything

nope its not stuffed only got rebuilt befor i got the car 12mths ago with only 108000 on it :yeah: but i hit a roo a couple of months ago and bye bye car :cry: now got a vs wagon for $800 and it dose the same.
