VE SV6 Ute S2
Hi guys,
I have a VE Series 2 SV6 with a manual transmission.
My battery went flat so i decided to roll start it.
It wouldn't even roll start so got a jump start.
The question is, why can't the car be roll started ?

When i tryed it to mine it wouldn't work,Some warning lights came on followed by the wheels locking up. i think its because you have to have your clutch in when you turn your key what defeats the purpose when trying to clutch start it

use a high gear, i've found my car prefers 3rd+ also about 20kms of speed. I may be wrong but i think you gotta clutch out when the revs go up you snap the clutch back in

This might sound really really stupid but is it actually possible to roll start a car with electronic fuel injection when it has a dead battery? I mean, mechanical fuel pump sure... but EFI?

I've seen a VX SS get done before... that's the newest car I've seen do it.

my car was absolutely dead when i did it, i kept my headlights on for hours and nothing would show on the dash.

I've clutch started mine in reverse. Pushed it myself with one foot outside the door, so wasn't going too quick. Started first time. Admittedly, battery wasn't too flat, but not charged enough for the starter motor to even make a noise.
