Now that I'm an adult, I'm just in the process of refitting my factory headunit, moving my video needs to a factory VDO nav unit.

As far as bluetooth needs, I have the factory button and loom but no module.

It's a very old memory but I vaguely recall a whole bunch of modules being based on lumen
LBT-AMPBT-01, rebranded for each manufacturer, BA falcon kit looks identical.

VY/VZ had a unique number but I Think I remember being able to use VE modules with newer firmware?

Anyone know how they would fair with modern phones? I don't care if it cant read my contacts etc, more or less just want it for the answer/end function

My research makes me believe that theoretically any bluetooth kit with mute signal and audio outs will work so thinking I can use the module from 92149670 which was an accessory kit for most imported holdens

Due to the lack of replies I assume there's few people out there that haven't already gone down the aftermarket road, my goal here is a full restoration for future resale value.

For those with a factory head unit or restoring back to original head unit and wanting to carry out this mod, the 95710164 (module 95710047) works just fine available for $100 ballpark. Try get the newest one available, I chose one with date stamp 2011 (sw08)

Only difference between these and the original vz kit is that this has Its own phone button built into the mic rather than the factory console button.

If you have the factory console button, then its as simple as splicing the push button wires into the mic loom (same colours) and you can use both.

You can stream music however the VZ radio will only play this in mono through 1 speaker.

For those unfamiliar with these kits, they allow single press answer and hang up function, double press call last number, single press voice dial (phone dependant) and auto mute factory vz headunit.

Successful pairing of a brand new samsung running bluetooth 5.0 so should work with most devices

installation is easy, just plugs into 6pin breakout harness to the right of the headunit

I have an original factory fitted one in my 2005 VZ and i believe it still connects to my current iphone. I did have another module/setup that i pulled out of my car when i sold it, but i havent been able to find it.

Such a clean looking install too, I think it's an awesome edition despite the lack of audio streaming.

Again not my daily driver anymore, barely get out these days so I don't mind loading up the 6 stacker like back in the day
