Make sure you torque em up with that cylinder on the comp stroke (both valves closed) this way you can get an accurate reading and everything stays in the right place while you do it.

cheers and how much damage will it do if i keep driving it around while its ticking

Your best bet would be get your self an accurate torque wrench and installed them the way that chargedvx6 has suggested.

In the short the ticking will cause no harm, depending on what exactly is the problem though. For instance if it's only because there isn't enough lifter pre load then it would be fine. If it's a spun cam bearing (not enough oil getting to lifters) then it's, not for example.

even put better oil in ive tried a few and some make those rockers noise worst than other brands. the best that ive used is nulon brand.
