BTW our petrol is $2.13 a litre and we don't have petrol cycles like most places on the mainland do. Don't know what you're paying but I'd say it's a lot less than that on the low end of your cycle.

Aimed at me? If you had any idea of distances around here you wouldn't have such a smartarse answer. Driving four times the distance at 100kph isn't the same as driving 60kph for through your perfect city in your perfect car, Mr Perfect.

You have no idea.

Well I know that on the low end of the cycle you pay about 25cpl or more, less than we do Pal. So you do the sums Mr Perfect

You monitor fuel watch do you ?

Sums.....25cpl does not equate to double the cost.

Not sure about your car but mine uses a lot less petrol driving 45mins at 60kph than it does driving the same 45mins at 100kph.

I've thought this before and tonight has confirmed what I have thought for years that you never post anything helpful. It's either a dig or just random **** that contributes nothing towards helping people with their car problems. I asked a question of you years ago and I went ignored. Had I asked the same of another WA member they would have helped out no problem. Mehhh

Is called Aero Drag. The faster you go, the more power you need (squared). It is not a linear loss.

In the US during the oil embargo of the 70s, the gov decided to drop the national speed limits to 55MPH. The studies concluded that speed was the fastest with the best fuel economy with the tech of the era. Around a rural area is not a big deal, on a highway with not much to see, is a nightmare to go that slow.

Stop start traffic is what kills fuel economy.
