Fitting the adventra rear garnish to a vz wagon

The wagon seems to flow air in through the back glass and out whatever window is open, idk. My cars just fu*ked I guess xD

I think part of the reason is my O2 sensors are cooked and it's running rich, it starts, it drives I'll sort that out later haha.

I like to drive with my rear glass open, it's nice untill you boot it and get gassed out xD misso hates the smell, I just giggle. My cats are dead so it smells like fireworks

Fitting the adventra rear garnish to a vz wagon

I'm a professional at ballsing things up haha. I just run on a "what if this will work there" mindset, I got bored when coco hit back in '19, i had a 4x4 with a fu**ed body, and a hatchback with a dead motor, 1+1 = a mad max hatchback. Also have an Austin farina, got it as a resto project...

Panelvan tailgate off what? My thinking with using the ute lower is it had to be close to working, they use the same lights as a wagon and the cars are the same width, then put the wagons bottom latch mechanism in the top of the ute tailgate so the top latches to the bottom, have the ute lower...

Fitting the adventra rear garnish to a vz wagon

If I was to do it I would probably use an addy top for the floppy glass, there's no way in hell that I'll get a wind up window to work xD. But yeah the one you shown is a better representation of what I want to do.

Lowered addys look kinda gross. I've been trying to find that same stato bar so I can graft it to a stock grille on, I like the lower half but not the bonnet.

Fitting the adventra rear garnish to a vz wagon

Ive been toying with an idea for another tailgate stap for a while now. I want to recreate a Hz wagon style fold down and up gate. I think it'll be "easy" using the ute tailgate as the bottom as it works esentially the same, then drastically shortening a wagon gate as a top and have it latch to...

If you fell like parting a car there's a whole white addy in Melbourne with a timing chain issue for $1500, you'd make most of that back with the driveline alone

Here's a reference photo of another boot with a commo bar, marked the area that needs to go on the oe bar just for visual aid.

Why the **** are the all bare? They all look decent but are all missing enough to make the not quite worth it

Fitting the adventra rear garnish to a vz wagon

Oh well, keep them in mind when you need parts tho, $100 for a gate is cheaper pretty good when the boot module alone is $70, wiper module is more expensive than standard commo the trim panel is pretty expensive, if I was in Vic I would buy a couple from them for parts alone.

Fitting the adventra rear garnish to a vz wagon

Hopefully the other ones a little nicer, depending on what's missing tho, could be a mint condition, but if it's missing the spoiler and wiper controller or their busted it's gonna cost almost as much to replace them. One thing I've been toying with it redoing the spoiler holes so I can put a...

XD is a laughy face.. Back to the gate, you need the addy lights as they have rounded corners, the reverse lights are on that gate, luckily but for the overall condition. Dang, it's rough, only get it if A you're confident on fixing that crease or B you're going to use it as parts for another(...

Fitting the adventra rear garnish to a vz wagon

You don't "actually" need the lights, oddly the commo lights fit, barely being the tailgate, I know because when I was fitting the boot I still had the com lights on and accidentally dropped it xD lights are still in the shed crack free

Dude, as long as it has all the bits on it it's a steal. Make sure they don't just cut the wires, you'll be in for a world of pain fixing that mess

Fitting the adventra rear garnish to a vz wagon

The line near the folded seam is what I've called "line 2" the inner seam cut line that only goes through the inner skin. The x x are all over the boot, those were all the dents I needed to take out that were there when i got it. The other " line" is just a gross goo line from the boot seal...

Aww, mine got ripped off a month or two ago (fixed now) when I bottomed out blasting down a dirt road xD ripped straight out the back of the mid muffler and flung off the road xD I thought we were no exhaust buddies, I'd suggest Facebook marketplace for any chance of getting them cheap...

Fitting the adventra rear garnish to a vz wagon

I'm not a panelbeater one bit, I can kinda knock a dent out, but give me a hammer and ill show you how to make a good dent appear xD It was just a bit of tinkering same as the wiring, I had a rough idea of how it needed to go, then just a buttload of tinkering to get it set in place right. If...

Fitting the adventra rear garnish to a vz wagon

You'll probably find alot of adventra tailgates look the same little ding and dents the same as yours and you'll still need to paint atleast part of it after the corner cut. I'm just lucky that I got mine for $50 each, before I found those the cheapest one I god quoted on was $350 from a...

Fitting the adventra rear garnish to a vz wagon

To cut the corners I started by making a template off the old tailgate, make sure one edge is long so to have a good straight reference, mine was about 300x150, 300 on the bottom. Trace the curve of the og tailgate corner and cut it as close to exact as possible, most of the factory boots don't...

I'll have to do a type up I guess, I'm guessing (after the many hours I looked for some) that 99% of the info about the swap is everything we worked out on that post of mine. Not sure wiring wise what the vt has back there, might be the same might not,
  31. Exogator

Fitting the adventra rear garnish to a vz wagon

I'll be honest, it seems like alot of work wiring wise, but atleast you have someone who can tell you what goes where, I had to get help on the forum from people who knew alot about both cars but not how to get 1 and 2 to work xD It's alot easier than it seems, I've done another one already and...

Fitting the adventra rear garnish to a vz wagon

You need to repin most of it, the boot release for the sedans works on the wagon, slap a boot button in, the bcm will see it, add a pin to the connector on the bcm and run it to the rear and there's your boot pop, wiper is a bit more difficult. The wagons bcm controls the stock wiper, the...

Fitting the adventra rear garnish to a vz wagon

If youve still got the car, buy the tailgate and fit it, you won't regret it one bit, the only bit I regret is not doing it sooner. Bit of messing around with the wiring, but it looks so damn good and the lift glass is the best bit

Adventra tailgate swap onto commodore wagon.

It's ironic that you mention side windows opening xD I've been wanting to diy some emu wings for a while, once the draws are back in the glass will be the main thing to open on the rear, as it is already that b!tch is always getting opened, it's like a new toy that never gets old, it's wicked...

I know this thread is getting a little side tracked, but did you know having the rear glass 1/2 open while driving it massively improves fuel economy, my normal economy is 12.5L-13L/100km. With the glass half open it went down to 9.2L/100, even driving like a tw@ it went up to 10.4 then after a...

You speak like I have money hah It's a bush basher, so I could use awd but I think the transmission tunnel is different on the addy tho? Still have to get around to putting my roof racks/basket/awning and lights back on that I took off to change the cracked black roof rails to the silver ones...
