hey mate, prob not much help but i would *hazard* a guess at the 5 grand mark. You are probably better off selling your ute and buying a manual one if you can, in saying that, it can and has been done many times though.

what's wrong with your current alloytec? As said, i wouldn't bother wasting the 4+ grand if there is nothing wrong, put the money towards a FI setup

No probs mate, never done a pump on the alloytec so not sure what you are in for. Have you got the belt off yet? EDIT: just read it again you have the belt off.

+1 for power steering pump. Have you run it low on oil ever? Or is it low on oil? Sounds like its got air in it because when i had my sv6 i lost all my P/S fluid and it made a very similar noise. Maybe take the belt off and spin the pulley.

The 245kw BF xr6t with the 6 speed auto is about the same if not quicker than the VE SS, the 240kw BA's are a bit slower with the 4 spd. Yep VE SS runs 6A or 6M. Your mate might be infront of a ve ss, theres only one way to find out as said take it to a track and have a few runs

yep sitting on 100km/h for a while 9-10l/100 is easily achievable in an Ls1. Again just reset the trip comp before you hit the highway which ur prob aleady doin.

18l/100 is probably right with ave speed of 30. If it was up around 45-50kmh your consumption would be obviously much better. Does your mate drive the same route as you?

Hi mate , there is a few things to consider before thinking its a mechanical issue. What is your average speed on the trip computer? As said, what kind of traffic are you driving in, and also being new have you been giving it a bit here and there? Reset the trip computer and drive it like a girl...

Hi welcome mate. What model vz is it? Your best not to stir up the ba/bf's with your alloytec unless you have a sv6 or calais.

Mate do it right the first time (unlike me). If your insurance isnt too much, go the v8.

Is there intructions? I guess for the oil pressure you would wire it into the oil pressure switch and for the water temp would be around the thermostat? Not too sure bout that just find where the water temp sensor is.
